How this Works
We're driving around South America in cars which are quite elderly. It therefore stands to reason that, at some point, we may (and probably will) break down.
Although bad for us, it's good for you - because if you can guess how many miles elapse before we conk out, you can win a prize by correctly guessing this mileage. You'll even get a brief
mention...
Just as with last time, you have the chance of making some money from all this. Up to 10% of the total amount donated to Save the Children by all of you (to a maximum of £600) will be donated by myself to pay 2 prizes. To win you must donate at least £10 to
Save the Children. The total mileage of the route is 9,000 but, given the unknown state of the roads, I can’t guarantee we will get that far in the time allocated. Select the mileage at which you think I will breakdown. (A breakdown is an unscheduled stop for repairs which can not be fixed in an hour at the side of the road). The person nearest to the actual breakdown mileage wins a prize. Last time it was complete co-incidence my nephew won…..
If we don’t use up the prize money, it will be donated to Save the Children.

We start December 4th 2005 – so book those first miles quickly. After that length of time at sea – who knows what state she will be in!
This system uses PayPal - if you'd rather make a good old-fashioned pledge, please use our
